Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) represent the ‘green’ in Green Power, or more  specifically,  the positive environmental benefits of low-impact renewable energy from wind, run-of-river hydro and biomass facilities.

Green credits are accumulated, accounted for and transferred to the buyer in the form of a REC that represents legal and beneficial ownership of the credits.

RECs are purchased annually to help improve the environmental performance of the buyer’s electrical consumption, particularly in areas with significant hydrocarbon-based power generation.

The purchase of RECs allows buyers to ‘walk the talk’ regarding their commitment to a cleaner environment, to demonstrate community leadership and to deliver substantial environmental performance.
